Cross country skiing - classic or skating

Nordic Sports in the Hohe Tauern

Cross-country skiing is an impressive and majestic way to move in the winter landscape.

Quietly, efficiently and gracefully you glide along while the magnificent nature passes you by and reveals breathtaking views of the mountains. Guaranteed snow and winter temperatures are the main reasons why the Hohe Tauern ski region is a top cross-country skiing destination.

The top 8 cross country ski trails

The most beautiful mountain panorama is in front of you when you are out and about in Heiligenblut am Großglockner: with the Glocknerloipe, the Sonnblickloipe and the Höhenloipe Fallbichl there is a respectable network of trails here. Further cross-country trails can be found in the Mölltal along the Möll River.
Cross-country skiing can also be enjoyed in the Drau Valley, either along the Drau between Berg and Greifenburg or on the high-altitude trail on the Emberger Alm.
