From the story to the STORIES

The National Park tells

What better way to understand the history and the many processes inside the national park than through stories. The national park is not only made up of rock and ice, it is above all the people who shape and form this original landscape.

Their coexistence with animals and plants is the stuff our stories are made of. Stories that tell of life in and with nature. Listen to our stories and experience first-hand what's new in the Hohe Tauern National Park!

Hiking on the Kreuzeck high trail

Hiking on the Kreuzeck high trail

The Kreuzeck-Höhenweg is a tough one: over 52.8 kilometers it goes along the ridge of the Kreuzeckgruppe with constant ups and downs - 3500 meters of altitude have to be overcome.
The terrain is rocky and then again quite shallow along the beautiful alpine meadows. But the effort is rewarded with spectacular views and fine, small shelters.
