Old Paths and Living Connections

The Alpina Antica Trail is not just a long-distance hiking trail—it’s a story. A story that dates back centuries and has been brought back to life. The Alpina Antica Trail is more than just a long-distance hiking trail.

It's a journey through time…

A journey to the roots of European trade, to the courageous pack animals and traveling merchants who crossed the Alps with their pack animals and backpacks, thereby connecting regions, cultures, and people. The idea was not only to bring this historic route to life, but to make it an experience. Step by step. Valley by valley. Encounter by encounter.

The Route – Across 3 Countries (from Lake Chiemsee to Venice)…

The journey begins in Bavaria at the sparkling Lake Chiemsee, winds through the majestic Alpine massif in Austria—along ancient mule trails, through valleys steeped in tradition, past historic farms, castles, towns, and markets—and finally reaches the Adriatic Sea in Italy. A path that connects two worlds like a ribbon: the Alpine region and the Mediterranean way of life. Ancient trails—brought back to life. History—brought to life. An experience you’ll never forget.

Experiences and moments that last…

The Alpina Antica Trail offers more than just scenery. It offers encounters—with people who live their traditions, with regional cuisine that tastes like home, with stories that are passed down, and perhaps even with yourself.

Anyone who takes this journey takes home something that can’t be packed in a suitcase: the feeling of having become part of a centuries-old tradition.
